Rain Interrupts Progress of $2.6 Million Subdivision
Recent rains have interrupted heavy equipment working on the construction of a $2.6 million subdivision that will provide spaces for 54 new houses.

Chief administrative officer of the Town of Provost, Terry Hurlbut said that many of the lots being created will be larger than conventional ones but there will be no back alleys in the subdivision.

One person has already reserved one of the larger lots that is nearly a half acre in size.

Most of the new lots that will back onto a new golf development south of the railway tracks and east of the existing golf fairways will be approximately 82 feet wide (vs. a regular lot in the 65 foot wide range) and 130 feet deep (10,600 square feet).
A lot downtown is approximately 50 feet by 115 feet (5,750 square feet) so some of the new lots are close to twice the size as some lots.

Hurlbut says the cost of the development to the town is approximately double to that of what it was when it was first examined a couple of years ago.
