“It Made My Week”
— National Photo Contest Winner

Warren Schug holds up a Richardson Pioneer 2024 calendar — featuring a photo he took which was entered into an annual, national photography contest. Schug, who lives about 10 miles south of Provost told The News that when he found out his image was selected last fall, “It made my week — I was having a bad week.” When he took the picture on July 30, 2019 “I just happened to be there.” He was outside and spotted a shelf cloud, creating a backdrop behind several grain bins. He says the scene only lasted a couple of minutes. He showed the picture to Amanda Stuber at Provost Richardson Pioneer and she entered it on his behalf — and later called him to tell him he was one of the winners. He also received a mug. ©Provost News Photo.
