Heavyweight Crossing

A moose (not shown) wandering into town was determined to cross right over this chain link fence into the Provost Public School yard near the 53 Ave. and 44 St three-way intersection, knocking a section of it down on October 12. A woman driving a van slowed down and hollered to the photographer near the fence, “Are you looking for him (the moose)?” and suggested try going to the Paulgaard Estates subdivision as she saw it there 10 minutes ago and reported it to the town. After a drive through the subdivision, Provost Bylaw officer Kurtis Klein was called but said the animal hadn’t been found. The photographer returned to the damaged fence area in case the animal came back (it didn’t) when Garry Heck Sr stopped to tell The News about his morning trying to get the bull out of town until it finally left.
