Delivering History
|
An original 1913 fire engine is wheeled into place at the Provost fire hall on Monday afternoon, March 21 after being transported from Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. (see related story PN December 1, 2022). The department hired a company out of Okotoks to make the delivery. The Semrad family from Portland sold the old unit to the department for $2,500. Fire chief Barry Johnstone told The News just after it was delivered that “I think it’s sweet—real sweet. It’s in even better shape than I thought it was, by looking at the pictures.” For more details, other photo see The Provost News dated March 23, 2022. ©Provost News Photo. |
