New Fire Truck is ‘Real Good’ for Structure and Ground Fires
|
A new fire truck arrived for the Provost Volunteer Fire Department on Thursday morning, March 11. Fire chief Barry Johnstone told The News it’s the same type of unit as one of their other trucks, but this one has a “little bigger pump.” He looks forward to the water tank size carrying up to 4,800 imperial gallons, outputting 1,250 gallons per minute. It also holds up to 36 gallons of foam. The custom-built $815,000 truck for the M.D. of Provost No. 52 is “going to be real good for structure fires” and with the high amount of ground level flames the department deals with, it is fitted with a ground swept nozzle to put out those fires.
