Provost Minor Hockey Marches
to “Let Them Play” Again
|
Provost Minor hockey players and advocates for the sport organized into groups of 10 or less march around Crescent Point Place arena parking lot in a ‘peaceful protest,’ sending a message to the Government of Alberta on Tuesday afternoon, January 26. While chanting “let us play” they carried signs with messages such as ‘If NHL Can Play, Then So Should We’ and ‘Sports Are Essential to Our Well-being.’ Parents were encouraged to take photos and videos of the event to email organizer Bobby McKinlay of ‘Let Them Play’ in Bentley, Alta. who would send a compilation of various community demonstrations to the government; and to send them to MLAs, Premier Jason Kenny and Chief Medical Officer Deena Hinshaw to ask for sports to continue.
