Part of a finished maple peas crop just west of Provost gets loaded into a grain truck to be hauled away for storage and marketing at Menzies Farms Ltd. Elmer Paulgaard of Provost told The News that the approximate 640 acres of peas which were seeded in the first part of May are looking “pretty good. We’re happy with them.” For this type of peas which are going for around $8.50 per bushel, there is a market for animal and human consumption, he said.
