A FortisAlberta worker climbs a 45-foot tall pole to install equipment about two kilometres east of Provost along Highway 13 on March 31. Alana Antonelli for FortisAlberta told The News that the project is a three-phase service and the line will be energized at 25,000 volts, tapping into an existing electrical system in the area. Eight new poles were soon to be wired with about half a kilometre of line. Construction, which saw three to four workers hired, began mid-March and is expected to be complete mid-April. FortisAlberta announced on March 31 that the Provost and District Ministerial Food Bank is to be gifted $1,000; among $100,000 throughout Alberta to other food banks, women’s shelters and indigenous communities. FortisAlberta president and CEO Mike Mosher said the company wants to help people “through these uncertain times in the best way we know how, by supporting food banks across the province,” during the COVID-19 pandemic. ©Provost News Photo.
