Bear Caught
|
A bear peers through a cage while being pictured by Earl Nutbrown of Chauvin after being trapped at Suffern Lake, Sask. He told The News that while taking this photo on Monday, May 1 that "He growled at me—he didn't sound like a up." Nutbrown figures the bear to be a three year old "big male." The animal had gotten into garbage dumpsers, instigating the trap being set up April 29 by conservation officers. By May 1, 7 a.m. Nutbrown said the trap was sprung with the bear inside and officers took it away although he says he's not sure what happened next. Some people from Provost have cabins at Suffern Lake, which is southeast of Chauvin.
