Two people working partway up a wind turbine (left) are dwarfed by the structure while they provide maintenance to one of 17 units northeast of Provost. Picture right using a long camera lens shows the serrated edges of the blade that are designed to reduce noise. Construction of the BluEarth Renewables Inc. project named Bull Creek began four years ago. Another project consisting of 83 taller turbines called Sharp Hills Wind Farm will be constructed in Special Areas 3 and 4 by EDP Renewables, near the hamlets of New Brigden and Sedalia, north of Oyen. Permission to build the 300 megawatt production project on private land was announced on September 21 by the Alberta Utilities Commission stating that the project is “in the public interest”. ©Provost News Photos.
