Appearing Like Phantom Vehicles
|
This was the view on Highway 13 around high noon on August 15 as the flavour of the day was smoke, which caused extra sensations in some people’s eyes, throats and noses. The unusual smokescreen was caused by over 560 forest fires burning across British Columbia and the air pollution spreading across Alberta and Saskatchewan. Behind the barely visible trucks near centre, Provost would normally be seen in the background. The next morning visibility was worse as high humidity added water vapour to the environmental mix—creating smog. ©Provost News Photo.
