First One Up
|
Shortly after three massive blades were hoisted atop a wind tower structure on Wednesday afternoon, September 9 it was the job of two men in a man basket to take off lifting slings. They can be seen partway up and after that task was done on this first turbine for the Bull Creek project northeast of Provost, the men were brought slowly down to earth. Following this installation, equipment and workers were moved to one of another 16 other sites to have the three-bladed rotors carefully put into position for BluEarth Renewables of Calgary. This picture was taken on Freda Wright’s land just west of Range Road 14. Electrical connection of the turbines to the distribution system is scheduled to take place in October and November. ©Provost News Photos.
