Will Help Prevent Future Town Flooding
|
This is the view from the east side of a low ditch looking west towards Highway 899 in Provost as a project has been taking place that will help drain water away from nearby houses quicker in the spring. A few yards (see houses background) flooded on April 28, causing some property damage and inconvenience to residents. In the foreground can be seen heavy boring equipment that is designed to auger underneath the highway so that a large 48 inch culvert could be installed near an existing culvert. The Alberta Transportation work is being done by a third party. The Town of Provost will not be paying for this upgrade. ©Provost News Photos.
