Craftsman at Work
|
Jeff Coleclough of Ricetown, Sask. determines how straight this piece of wood is during a demonstration of arrowhead making on Sunday, June 23 during Archaeology Week activities at Bodo, Alberta. Lois Johnson (left) of Provost watched and had a variety of questions for the craftsman who broke some rock and said that the edge was sharper than a scalpel. Other photo shows some of the arrowheads that he created from stones found across North America and as far away as Australia. Coleclough, originally from Ontario was taught this skill by elders and his and his wife’s work appears in museums and schools across the world. ©Provost News Photos.
