Provost Bowlers First at Provincial Finals
—Advancing to National Competition

A Provost team won first place in the bantam girls five pin division and now advances to national finals in Newfoundland this spring.

The Youth Bowling Canada provincial winners took their gold medals in provincial roll offs on Sunday, March 4 at Bonnie Doon Lanes in Edmonton.

The team consists of Blair Heck, Taryn Heintz, Anna-Mae Rustad, Ashley Neth and coach Joy Werenka.

There were six zones represented at the provincial finals.
Provost was up against Lethbridge Holiday Bowl, Calgary Chinook Bowladrome, Calgary Bowling Depot, Ponoka Leisure Lanes and St. Albert Bowling Centre. The teams bowled four games—scratch bowling (highest pinfall).

Provost advances to national finals in St. John’s, Newfoundland, May 4 to 8.

Maps, Photos, Part of Wind Generation Firm’s Open House

A Calgary firm planning to establish a wind farm north east of Provost held an open house in town on March 1 to offer details to the public.

BluEarth Renewables Inc. held the information session on Thursday from 4:30 until 9 p.m. at Canalta Hotel.

Photographs of the site to be used were on display with both existing and a simulation photo of what the area would look like with the turbines illustrated in place.
