Variety of Business Dealt With by Town Council
The Town of Provost council met on Tuesday, December 20 to deal with a variety of business.
The town will apply for a one year trial membership with the Association for Life-Wide of Alberta/Battle River Rural Health Network. The advocacy group for health care covers an area roughly from Wetaskiwin in the west to the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.
Council ratified the signing of an interim license of use and occupation agreement with Alberta Health Services for the lease of the Provost fire hall to store one ambulance.
Two lots in the Paulgaard subdivision in the south east area of town were allowed to be consolidated to construct a residence with the current 10 percent discount off of the list price of the two lots and extension for the five percent construction completion tax credit to 365 days.
A request from the Provost & District Museum Society was supported so the group could raise money provided that all provincial regulations are met. The society wants to put an automobile on the ice of the lake that is south of the golf course and sell tickets with people guessing when the ice will melt and the car sink into the water. The vehicle would have to be pulled out afterwards.
