Archbishop Brings Message as St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Celebrates Centennial
On Saturday, August 18 parishioners gathered at St. Mary’s Parish to commemorate 100 years of faith.
Rev. Mahesh (SAC), new parish priest, (as of August 6,) welcomed the bishop,
former parish priests, clergy and all guests.
Presider at a Eucharistic celebration was Most Rev. Richard Smith, Archbishop of the Edmonton Archdiocese. In his homily, he related how many travelers today rely on GPS to guide them through a new and unfamiliar territory as they try to reach their destinations. He stated that: Similarly, God has sent us His GPS, His only Son, to guide and direct us and to lead us to holiness. This is through the local manifestation of Church, the Body of Christ as we live in love and unity. We give thanks to the Son for the past 100 years and look forward in hope as we are lead to eternal life.
