Tests Show Towns Drinking Water OK

Recent independent testing of Provosts drinking water shows no indication of problems like some other communities across Canada have experienced in recent months. Superintendent of public works and utilities, Skip Smith says that Epcor Water Services Inc. did testing for cryptosporidium in June. Smith says that since incidents like Battleford where water contamination was reported local people have been enquiring to town councillors wondering what the local water supply was like. So the town got the water tested recently. A kit was sent to Provost and staff took samples, sending them back to the Epcor Water Services Inc. laboratory for testing. The dancing hardly ever stopped all weekend as the Lions Club organized another polka festival at the hall in Provost. A Lions member said that there were about 850 admissions total over the entire weekend and that there were few spectatorssince most danced. |
