The Provost and District Chamber of Commerce has again organized a special Christmas Memories family program in town this year now on until December 23.
On Wednesday evening, December 13, the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the annual Christmas Carol Festival hosted by the Ministerial Association at the Provost Recreation and Culture Centre. There will be a free-will offering at the door to help the Ministerial Association's charitable program.
The Kinsmen Club and Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an indoor skating party at the arena Friday, December 15, with hot chocolate and goodies provided.
The annual Christmas pageant depicting the birth of Christ (with live animals) will again be presented by local talent and will be held downtown early Friday evening (one performance only), December 15.
On Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16 Santa arrives from the North Pole with his helpers and will be at the Legion Hall in the afternoon handing out treats. Free sleigh rides for the youngsters take off from the Legion Hall as well (weather permitting).
This year free shows return for the youngsters on Saturday, December 16 (two shows) and Saturday, December 23 (two more free shows) at the movie theatre in town.
The chamber will be holding a decorating contest for both residential and commercial, with prizes to be awarded in both categories.
On Fridays, December 8, 15 and 22 most businesses in town will remain open late.
