Saturday, October 26 (first game of the year, in Coronation: Provost 22, Coronation 0.
Saturday, November 2, second game, in Provost: Provost 6, Kitscoty 4.
Game No. 1 Last year the score would have been the other way around but we showed Coronation by winning the game 22-0, in Coronation. I was not there but I will assume it was a good game. A few others weren't there as well. We were at a referee clinic for the weekend. And the game sheet was not available at the game so it would be a tad bit hard for me to report on it. But it's obvious whoever scored the first goal was the game winner. We were a little scared to go into that game but I'm sure we will all look forward to playing this team. Game No. 2 This game was fairly evenly matched. But we came out ahead 3-0 in the first period. By the end of the second period it was 5-3, then we each got a goal in the third. So it ended up 6-4 for Provost. Kevin Ganser and myself went up to Lloydminster to play with the other Provost PeeWee team because they were short of players. We missed the third period so we could make it to their game. Here's the scoring for Provost: First period (all goals less than one minute apart): Angeltvedt (Adams), McMann (Klein), Holmes (Stempfle, Rehman). Second period- (both goals less than one minute apart): Ringrose (Holmes, Wotschell), Holmes (Wotschell). Third period: Wotschell (McMann, Martin). I'm going to report on the other Pee Wee game that Kevin and I went to. We got to Lloydminster with about five minutes left in the second period. Provost was losing by a score of 7-1. It was a pretty good game except the score wasn't too good at the end. The final score was 12-6 for Lloydminster. But I think Kevin and I did our job by scoring five of the six goals and assisting on each others. I was able to get the game sheet so I might as well use it in this column. Here are the Provost points for you: First period, Corpe (unassisted). Second period: Ganser (Holmes), Holmes (Ganser, Corpe). Third period: Ganser (Holmes), Holmes (Ganser), Ganser (Holmes, Schumacher). It should be noted that the third period was played straight time. The next morning (Sunday) Aric Martin and I were linesmen at an Atom game in Provost. We made a few mistakes but we still thought that it was fun. That's all for this week so come and join me next week. And by the way, you can find my columns on the Internet now via Internet Alberta (Provost News) website: www.inter.ab.ca/provost
