One of the Macklin teams last Saturday in Provost gave us a scare when they scored two quick goals just two minutes into the game.
Benoit came back with one of his own just after that. Macklin scored once more to make it a three to one lead for themselves.
Paulgaard then took a pass from just above the hash marks and snapped it in between the goalie’s legs.
Benoit and Stempfle each scored once more to put us into the lead at 4-3.
In the second Benoit completed the hat trick before getting the big boot for checking from behind.
Landmark and Moncrieff each scored from blasts from the point.
Holmes had numerous chances but only connected on two. Snapping the puck over the goalie's shoulder each time.
Later on in the third Carroll was caught for a major high sticking infraction and he was sent off to join Benoit in the stands. Carroll left with three assists.
While shorthanded the Macklin goalie raced Holmes for the puck. Holmes got to it first and passed it over to Moncrieff cutting in the middle. The Macklin goalie threw his stick at Moncrieff making him lose the puck. Therefore a penalty shot was awarded.
The first penalty shot of the season Moncrieff went down the ice, side to side and finally had the goalie beaten and slipped the puck inside the net. Another shorthanded goal.
We had the pressure on them most of the game and it ended up how it should’ve 15-5 with Provost out shooting Macklin 57-30.
Glencross led the way for Provost getting a point on nine of the fifteen goals; three goals and six assists.

Our second game was played against Irma, in Irma.
Not much to say about this game but we did manage to keep the puck out of our end for the majority of the time. Actually, it wasn’t in their end a whole lot either.
We did fall behind just like the other game, in the first few minutes, 2-0.
But once again Stempfle and Benoit would assist on each other’s goals to tie it up.
But we weren’t quite done yet when Moncrieff made a couple of nice moves to walk in and slip it under the Irma goaltender.
Landmark also added another one of his own to give us the 4-2 lead heading into the dressing room.
Irma tied the game up halfway through the second but just after Sorby (after missing the Macklin game) scored in close from inside a big crowd gathered around the net.
Shorthanded, Holmes intercepted a pass and went in all alone to score, almost identical to his in the other game.
Sorby scored once more in the third for a little more of a cushion. Benoit scored his second of the game with over half the period left.
Scoreless for 10 minutes until Irma scored on a shot from the blueline. Stahl who had played a brilliant game making great saves whenever called upon. Not getting many goals scored on considering how open the game was.
Great games Brian!
Good work on the power play too guys.
