Provost News Photo Winner in National Newspaper Competition
Winning first place in a national newspaper photo competition was The Provost News. The photo, featured in The Provost News edition May 2, 2018 was taken northwest of Provost on Tuesday, April 24 by Ryan Ens, fiancé of Lindsay Morrow. It shows Ashton Morrow, 17, watching the house burn where he was asleep among four others. They all escaped the flames, although house cats weren't accounted for and the house was destroyed. Ens told The News his reaction to capturing first place in a national newspaper photo competition—"It's interesting that the best photo I've ever taken was at the worst moment of my life." He says all he had with him were the clothes he was wearing and his cellphone while the photo was taken. The Provost News presented Ryan Ens with the award.
