Whole Works Lost’ in Rural House Fire
There were no injuries to people in a house fire north west of Czar that has left a family without almost all of their possessions.

The fire broke out late Tuesday night, November 25 or early November 26 located north of Highway 13, on Highway 41 and west on Connought Road.

Twenty-five year old Wade and 22 year old Bobbi Lomheim who lived at the house with their children were away that night and told The Provost News that they did not know the cause of the blaze.

The couple were gone on a hunting trip and their two children were staying with a grandmother in Camrose.

The family moved into the house rented from Bob and Jeanette Spornitz in October.

Wade said that the most painful part of the fire was losing all their pictures including those from their July wedding. “That’s the worst part of the whole thing” he said while looking for any objects to recover. Their pet cat was missing and presumed dead.
They had some insurance coverage on their property but added they are not sure where they will live now.

The couple are from Wainwright originally.

Czar fire chief Dale Sieppert who is a fellow-worker with Lomheim at Gibson Petroleum said that firemen and pumpers came from Czar, Amisk and Provost to help put out the fire. A water truck was also brought in from near-by Hughenden. Most of the firemen were gone by 11 a.m. that morning.
